Today I Am Grateful

For my youth.

For parents.

That I can start anew.

That my brother taught me how to solve math problems.

For home cooked meals.

For spontaneous dates.

For teachers.

For bookstores.

For chocolate! :)

For catch up dates with old friends

For beauty and nostalgia of memories with loved ones.

For the sky, and the clouds, and the moon, and the stars, and for someone to skygaze with.

For eco-friendly bags that help save trees.

For trees.

That I have an excellent sign language teacher.

That I can create dreams for myself again.

For all those people who took the time (and courage) to write stories, novels, poems, vignettes, letters, and other literary forms that add up to the body of written art.

For a refreshing drink of potable water.

For colors.

For unexpectedly meeting old friends down the street, and taking the time to chat.

For sunshiney smiles of random people.

For documentaries that bring me to places I've never been.

For second chances. And third chances too.

For arriving safely at work.

For doctors who heal out of service and kindness of heart; and not out of business and greed.

For unexpected kindness from neighbors.

For food and drink on the table.

because You love me no matter what.

That I have an intelligent, hardworking, loving mother.

For many 12:04 minute calls with Geek.

For learning how to read music notes.

That we have a loyal and trustworthy housekeeper.

That I can rest.

That Geek was able to meet Mamita today. And that Mamita told me to bring him again for our next lunch out. Yey!

That I have the sweetest grandparents, who even in old age nurture their love for each other.

That I have eyes that can see, ears that can listen, a nose that can smell, a mouth that can taste, and hands that can feel. Plus, a mind that can think and a heart that can love. :)

That I have a job that I love.

For the sweet-smelling mangoes that Geek gifted me with this morning. Geek is so thoughtful!
