Sky and Earth and She

It was the inception of moonrise
And off she went to a bend in a road
She lay down on the crisp leaves and gazed at the stars,
On that place where the sky kissed the earth.

Rain cloud and a jacket

A rain cloud was hovering above me,
One day, two days, and three days long.
I fell into a light sleep
And you placed your jacket upon my cold skin.

I can't tell if it will be a day of rain clouds or of sunshine, but its always happyfying to know that you care and that you are kind and that you are watching over me. :)

Spoon and Fork and a REFreshing Morning

Scenario: Desperately trying to find my utensils which I left to air dry on top of the table. One week and three days later… still searching for my utensils but just couldn’t find them anywhere. Was thinking of buying a new set of utensils over the weekend…

The Surprise: While getting oatmeal and milk in the refrigerator, I FINALLY FOUND MY UTENSILS!!!

THANK YOU to whoever placed my SPOON and FORK inside the REFRIGERATOR… THANK YOU!!! Am not sure why my utensils ended up chilling in the ref, but I was just  glad (and surprised) to find it there.

Sometimes, you just have to search inside the box… and you’ll find what you’re looking for in the most unlikely place….like inside the ref.

Crazy, REFreshing morning, everyone!!

Neil Gaiman's NY Wish

Please tell me what it is I have to do to have a tenth of his talent, to find the right words and the right sequence of words to phrase these thoughts cobwebbing in my mind.

These are beautiful New Year wishes. If I could light up the sky with lanterns, then I would place these wishes unto the lanterns and watch these beautiful dreams and aspirations soar.

A Decade Ago
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

Almost a Decade Ago
I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.

FOR 2012
I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're Doing Something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes.
Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

ANJ's thought bubble:  And don't forget to own up to the mistakes that you so gloriously made. :)

Iris Flower Origami and Paper Roses

There's a beautiful powder-pink-and-blue iris flower origami on my desk. What a great way to greet the New Year and to greet my everyday! It's always nice to have something refreshing to look at when my eyes are strained from too much computer work, and also when thy soul is looking for a thirst-quencher.

Iris Flower Origami

Background:
My officemate swore that she was never the artistic kind. But she was assigned as part of the decor committee for Julsis' wedding despedida--and by some twist of fate all other members of the decor committee were not present last Wednesday. With just a few hours to spare, she had to find a way to make the conference room spell WEDDING, and not just wedding-wedding, but DREAM WEDDING OF ALL DREAM WEDDINGS.
She asked me to join her in making paper flowers by looking at YouTube videos and google images. Flashforward to a few hours, she was on her way to making an origami bouquet. She even gave me a souvenir of her artistic prowess, hence the iris flower origami on my desk.
I think that its a victory that she was able to prove herself wrong. She may have thought for the longest time that all things artsy and craftsy were not meant for her. Thanks to fate, her friendship with Juls, and to Youtube videos, she was able to create something beautiful :)
